The money that goes into creating drugs and medical equipment has been going up. The number of patents granted to inventors has been going up. And the number of patents granted to people working in the pharmaceutical industry has gone up.

It's not a coincidence that the medicine shop listing is booming right now, and an increasing fraction of the stuff sold in it consists of drugs and medical equipment. The stuff sold in it consists of things we can't make for ourselves.

It sounds like a good idea. You know how to make medicine shop – you've had lots of practice. You know what people like to buy, and it's something you're good at making. And if you make money on it, that's great for you and your family.

But when I tried it, I discovered that all the things that seem obvious turn out not to be as simple as they seem.

When you start a business like this, you always have to do a lot of work up front. That's why I started with the pharmacy and not the herb shop: I needed more working capital than an herb medicine shop pharmacies would have needed. But when I tried to use the medicine shop model, every time I asked my customers what they wanted to buy, they said "medicine," even though most of them weren't sick.

So many things have to go right for the business model to work that it becomes very hard to predict how things will turn out. The risks are not just financial: they include the possibility of getting sued by somebody who got confused by one of your labels, or getting shaken down or robbed by one of your customers, or having to give up your job because there isn't enough money coming in from selling medicine to keep the lights

-Find a medicine shop within the A grade that you can rent or lease out

If you are a seller of goods, the best medicine shop listing place to find customers is in your own home. If you are a service provider, the best place to find customers is in other people's homes. But not all businesses fit into one of these categories.

Consider a business that sells edicine shop bloomsburg, like cooking oil or pesticides. You don't want to bring it back to your house because it's pretty messy and full of germs. And unlike cooking oil, which you can store indefinitely at room temperature, pesticides have a limited shelf life.

This business would be better placed in an A grade apartment building. You could rent or lease out the business space separately from the apartments, and put in an adequate kitchen and bathroom for staff use only. In a free market, the only way to get what you want is to make it yourself. If you can't make something for yourself, there are no choices about whether to buy it or not. The more things there are that you don't want, the harder it is to find things that you do want. So the best possible choice when you're buying something is to walk into a shop that has few competitors.

And that's where we usually find markets: in places with few competitors. A free market is an unusual thing in this world, so let's look at why they exist and how they work.

The area of a single rectangle is the width multiplied by the height. The size of the medicine shop listing was very small, so the area of each rectangle was likely to be small, too. The problem was that you couldn't tell just by looking at it how much of it would have to be covered with pictures.

We could make a guess, but that would require measuring it. And we didn't have the time to measure it; the doctor would be back soon.

The medicine shop is a very old idea. I learned about it from a book by an African historian, called A History of Medicine in West Africa. The first thing he tells you is that the medicine shop has always been there, and always will be. The only question is whether you can afford to open one.

What's "the medicine shop"? It's the store that sells medicine, not the store that sells anything else. If a barber has a shop, it's not a medicine shop any more than if a cook or a money lender has one.

The first thing he tells you is that there's nothing new about the idea. All over Africa, for example, people run small medicine shop pharmacies for their own use, many of them selling herbs as well as products like soap and toothpaste and so on. But it turns out that these are exactly the kind of shops that had the biggest impact on Africa during the colonial period. Before European doctors arrived, Africans used very little in those shops; when they did buy something new--a toothbrush or soap--they would have to go to the big city where they had no familiarity with it.
